Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Schmoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roufus Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speed has chosen K1 Classics : Roufus vs Hug as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Roufus Speed will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Schmoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roufus Speed!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmoe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Schmoe misses with a body punch
and Speed makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Speed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Schmoe.
Schmoe tries to clinch up.
Speed tries a low kick but Schmoe avoids it.
Speed lands with a kick to the temple. Schmoe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Schmoe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Speed slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Schmoe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joe Schmoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schmoe throws a head kick that misses.
Schmoe shoots in but Speed avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Schmoe thows a leg kick but Speed checks it
and Speed counters with a good low kick that Schmoe was not able to check.
Speed throws a head kick that misses.
Speed scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Schmoe wants to slow Speed down by chopping away at his legs.
Schmoe on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Schmoe tries to clinch up but Speed circles away and keeps his distance.
Schmoe pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Schmoe wants to clinch.
Speed connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Speed misses with a low kick.
Speed misses with a double jab.
Speed ducks under a wild hook from Schmoe.

Speed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Speed lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Speed lands with a cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Schmoe moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Schmoe throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Speed counters with a two punch combo.
Speed pivots, looking for a leg kick but Schmoe is out of range and Speed settles back down.

Schmoe drives through with a takedown into guard.

Schmoe thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Schmoe showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Speed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schmoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Schmoe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Speed is keeping the position for now.

Schmoe sitting in guard here, content to control.

Schmoe drops back looking for a leg! Speed is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Speed manages to kick Schmoe off! Schmoe jumps back into Speed's guard.
Speed wants to get back to his feet but Schmoe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Schmoe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schmoe is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Schmoe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Schmoe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Schmoe drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Schmoe seems to have locked his on tight now - Speed screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Schmoe, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Joe Schmoe!
Joe Schmoe decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
