Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Guillen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ridja Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paulo Guillen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ridja Cruz! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guillen shoots in for a takedown but Cruz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. No luck for Guillen with that takedown attempt. Guillen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cruz scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Guillen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cruz circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Guillen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guillen's waist but Guillen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side. Guillen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown but Guillen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cruz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Guillen moves to clinch but Cruz breaks away and Guillen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Guillen is defended easily by Cruz. Guillen moves forwards but Cruz connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guillen has managed to clinch.
Guillen keeps control of Cruz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Guillen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Guillen is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Cruz tries to clinch up but Guillen circles away and keeps his distance. Guillen rushes Cruz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cruz jumps guard but Guillen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Guillen manages to break the clinch.
Cruz clinches up against the cage. Guillen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Guillen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cruz as he jumps to the side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz takes a swing at Guillen's ribcage but misses. Guillen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cruz as he avoids it easily. Cruz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Guillen. Guillen is breathing heavily. Cruz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Guillen is fending him off so far but Cruz persists. Nope, Guillen circles away and we're back to standing. Guillen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Cruz shoots for a takedown but Guillen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guillen misses with a combination
and Cruz counters with a nice body shot. Cruz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Guillen backs up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Guillen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cruz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Guillen somewhat. Guillen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruz avoids it really well and circles away. Cruz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cruz stuffs the takedown attempt from Guillen. Guillen gets slowly back to his feet. Cruz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cruz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guillen is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cruz gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cruz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cruz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Guillen uses from the top position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Guillen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Cruz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ridja Cruz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Cruz cracks Guillen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Horrible takedown by Guillen or perhaps it was just good defense by Cruz which made him look bad. Cruz throws a right and a left that Guillen avoids nicely. Cruz tries to clinch up but Guillen circles away and keeps his distance. Guillen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruz avoids it really well and circles away. Guillen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Guillen pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cruz shoots for a takedown but Guillen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cruz shoots in and drives through. Guillen sprawls well. Guillen gets a clinch. Cruz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Guillen jumps into guard, dragging Cruz to the mat.
Guillen keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. Guillen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cruz gets to his feet. Guillen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Guillen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cruz as he jumps to the side. Guillen closes the distance and pushes Cruz back into the cage. Guillen is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Guillen trying to land knees to the body.
Guillen wants to take the fight to the mat but Cruz manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Cruz is trying to break free. Cruz tries for a takedown. No joy.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Guillen goes for a high kick. It partially lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Paulo Guillen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Guillen trying to control the position from guard on top but Cruz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Paulo Guillen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Guillen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Ridja Cruz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz moves into the clinch. Guillen is trying to pull guard but Cruz turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Guillen is trying to push Cruz away but Cruz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Cruz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Guillen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Guillen is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Cruz is defending well. Cruz pulls guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guillen wants to pass the guard but Cruz is keeping the position. Cruz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Guillen defends it easily. Guillen won't allow Cruz to sweep him here. Guillen won't allow Cruz to get back to his feet. Cruz wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Guillen manages to pass to side control. Guillen trying to control the action but Cruz is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Ridja Cruz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cruz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
