Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Facaloto Gals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Marteau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Marteau has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Facaloto Gals!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thomas Marteau!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marteau tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marteau throws a series of punches but Gals moves out of range.
Gals shoots for a double leg takedown but Marteau sprawls well. He's pushed Gals's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Marteau stuffs the takedown.
Marteau slaps away a takedown attempt from Gals, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Facaloto Gals. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Marteau has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gals is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gals is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marteau defends it well.
Marteau wants to improve his position but Gals is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gals connects with a nice short shot to Marteau's temple.

Gals drops back looking for a leg! Marteau is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Marteau manages to kick Gals off! Gals jumps back into Marteau's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gals changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marteau tries to avoid it but Gals manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marteau to the ground. Marteau escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gals shoots in looking for a takedown. Marteau tries to sprawl out of it but Gals keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marteau manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Marteau stalks Gals and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gals's face. Gals staggers backwards, shaken.

Gals has Marteau pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marteau manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Marteau working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gals doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gals manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gals slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gals is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Marteau will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Marteau is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Marteau is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gals couldn't care less - he's delighted!
