Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Skyy John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aldo has chosen Domination as his entrance music. Lincoln Aldo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

John drives through and clinches with Aldo against the cage.

John creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
John pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Aldo blocks the elbow strike.
John lands an elbow just above Aldo 's eye.

John drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
John closes the distance but Aldo moves to the side

and Aldo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for John!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Aldo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
John is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

John sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
John wants to get back to his feet.

John avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Aldo.
John keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Aldo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. John doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aldo.

Aldo tries to pass the half guard into mount. John knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aldo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Aldo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Aldo scores with a crisp jab that stopped John in his tracks.
John stuffs the takedown attempt from Aldo. Aldo gets slowly back to his feet.
John wants to clinch
and Aldo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
John tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Aldo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lincoln Aldo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Aldo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

John fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aldo, pushing him back against the cage.
John tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Aldo is trying to break the clinch but John has him pressed against the cage.

Aldo tightens his grip and picks John up, before dumping him to the ground. John manages to land in guard.

John moves to clinch but Aldo breaks away
enabling Aldo to counter with a crisp jab.

Aldo manages to get an easy takedown there - catching John on his heels. He'll look to pass John's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Aldo prevents John from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Skyy John.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Aldo wants to stand up but John is controlling the position.

John looks to clinch

and Aldo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Aldo is figuring out what he wants to do next.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aldo is just content to waste time from the top position. John takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Lincoln Aldo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Aldo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
