Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kent's entrance music is Superman Theme Song. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Kent!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kent closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Kent getting side control.

Kent has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

Kent working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jackson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jackson is one step ahead there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Clark Kent will probably get the nod.

Kent throws a hook but Jackson avoids it easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jackson.
Kent displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jackson throws out the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kent. Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jackson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kent manages to avoid it.
Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Kent sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kent shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kent tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jackson throws out a loose jab but Kent uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kent tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jackson was well out of range. Poor timing from Kent.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kent looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jackson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Kent shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Kent's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Jackson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kent connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jackson scrambles back to his feet.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Jackson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kent is looking to escape.
Kent sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Jackson is nestled in close to Kent, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kent has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Kent's legs - danger averted.

A close third round but Shane Jackson just about did enough to take it.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Clark Kent.
