The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith avoids the head kick by Girl.
Nice takedown defense from Girl. No joy for Smith on that attempt.
Girl throws a leg kick but Smith checks it.
A head kick misses from Girl.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Girl as he avoids it easily.

Smith takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Smith looks for a takedown but Girl sprawls well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Girl lands a leg kick that knocks Smith off balance momentarily.
Girl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Smith uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Girl.
Girl looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Girl tries to land a front kick but Smith steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Smith scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Girl has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.

Girl is looking for a sweep. Smith is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith tries to pass to full mount but Girl defends it.
Girl trying to control but Smith postures up.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Girl is trying to maintain the position but Smith is very close to passing his half guard.

Girl won't allow Smith to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bad Girl wasn't active enough on the ground.
Girl fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Smith on the side of the head.
It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Girl defends it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Girl throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Girl tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Girl manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Girl throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice leg kick lands there from Girl.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Girl sprawls well. Girl wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Girl manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Girl throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smith on the side of the head.
Smith looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Girl sprawls well. Girl wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Girl lands a big head kick that sends Smith tumbling to the mat! Girl takes a step backwards and waves Smith back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Smith is rocked!
Smith dives in and grabs Girl's left leg, looking for a takedown. Girl pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Girl drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Smith right on the button. Smith goes down! Girl follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Girl gets the win via TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bad Girl!
An out of breath Bad Girl thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
