Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masao Gensai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harukaze Kawazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masao Gensai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harukaze Kawazaki! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawazaki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gensai as he jumps to the side. Gensai misses with a few strikes there.
Masao Gensai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gensai gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kawazaki to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kawazaki sitting in guard here, content to control. Gensai is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kawazaki sitting in guard here, content to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Harukaze Kawazaki. Kawazaki drives through with a takedown into guard. Kawazaki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gensai is keeping the position for now. Kawazaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawazaki won't allow Gensai to get back to his feet. Gensai keeping full guard, as Kawazaki tries to pass. Kawazaki slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gensai scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Kawazaki or perhaps it was just good defense by Gensai which made him look bad. Kawazaki drives through with a takedown into Gensai's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gensai has a closed guard, preventing Kawazaki from standing up. Kawazaki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Kawazaki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Harukaze Kawazaki hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gensai throws a head kick but Kawazaki moves out of range.
Kawazaki tries to bum rush Gensai with a series of wild strikes but Gensai uses good footwork to avoid the assault. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kawazaki blocks a head kick by Gensai.
Gensai is breathing heavily. Kawazaki clinches. Kawazaki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawazaki shoots in and gets a takedown into Gensai's guard. Kawazaki pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gensai is keeping the position for now. Gensai wants to stand but Kawazaki is controlling the position. Kawazaki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Gensai keeping full guard, as Kawazaki tries to pass. Kawazaki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Kawazaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kawazaki looking to pass the guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawazaki stops Gensai from standing up. Gensai keeping full guard, as Kawazaki tries to pass. Gensai wants to stand up but Kawazaki is controlling him. Kawazaki makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kawazaki drops back looking for a leg! Gensai is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gensai manages to kick Kawazaki off! Kawazaki jumps back into Gensai's guard. Kawazaki engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harukaze Kawazaki dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kawazaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gensai was covering up waiting for the punch and Kawazaki finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kawazaki showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kawazaki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gensai looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gensai looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gensai! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kawazaki wants to control but Gensai postures up. Kawazaki is looking to reverse the position. Gensai tries to stand but Kawazaki is controlling his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gensai decides to stand back up. Kawazaki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kawazaki working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gensai won't allow Kawazaki to pass to mount. Kawazaki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gensai looks like he's trying to stand up.

Harukaze Kawazaki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Kawazaki closes the distance and clinches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gensai misses with a knee strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kawazaki is trying to drag Gensai to the mat but Gensai just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Masao Gensai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harukaze Kawazaki. Gensai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Kawazaki dives in and scores a takedown into Gensai's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gensai wants to get back to his feet but Kawazaki is in a dominant position and won't allow it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Masao Gensai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harukaze Kawazaki. Kawazaki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gensai walks away with a smile on his face. Kawazaki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. No luck for Kawazaki with that takedown attempt. Kawazaki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kawazaki shoots for a takedown but Gensai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gensai misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kawazaki shoots in for a double leg but Gensai sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gensai tries a head kick but it misses.
Masao Gensai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gensai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Gensai misses with a body kick. Gensai throws a right and a left that Kawazaki avoids nicely. Gensai misses with a head kick.

Kawazaki shoots in for a takedown but Gensai shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Kawazaki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kawazaki sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Gensai gets caught napping as Kawazaki dives in and scores a takedown. Gensai manages to retain guard. Gensai is looking to stand up but Kawazaki isn't so interested in that idea. Kawazaki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gensai swivels though and keeps the full guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Kawazaki showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Gensai is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kawazaki is controlling him. Kawazaki not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Kawazaki controlling the action here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Harukaze Kawazaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kawazaki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
