PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Bowling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dallas Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Bowling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dallas Green!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowling stuffs the takedown.
Bowling misses with a double jab.
Roger Bowling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Bowling swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Green counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bowling won't be happy with that.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bowling is not content to let Green control the position.
Bowling gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Green works his way into side control.
Bowling is trying to buck Green off.
Bowling is looking to regain half guard here but Green keeps moving and retains side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Green throwing strikes but Bowling manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Bowling decides to stand up, so the ref orders Green to his feet.

Bowling drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Green dives on top into guard.

Bowling throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Green escapes and throws Bowling's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bowling is breathing heavily.

Bowling is looking to regain half guard here but Green keeps moving and retains side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bowling is trying to control Green's posture but Green avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Green's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Bowling fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Green sprawls well initially but Bowling persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, Bowling seems content to control.
Green is looking to control Bowling's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Green avoid being mounted?

Bowling is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bowling has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Bowling's legs - danger averted.

Green lands a big shot there that rocks Bowling but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Bowling is looking to improve his position but Green isn't that keen on the idea.

Green has the hooks in. Bowling is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bowling is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Green gets his way!

Dallas Green showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bowling scores with a three punch combo!
Green changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bowling tries to avoid it but Green manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bowling to the ground. Bowling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Bowling.
A jab from Bowling does it's job there.
Green closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bowling circles away.

Bowling decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Green wants to get back to full guard.
Bowling with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Green slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Bowling stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Green swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bowling drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Green manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bowling has Green in his guard.

Green works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Green is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bowling knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dallas Green is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bowling wants to get back to his feet but Green drags him back down.

Green looks up at the clock and then as Bowling takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Green smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Green takes Bowling's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Bowling is in trouble.
Bowling tries to roll but Green sticks to his back.
Green has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Bowling.
Bowling manages to reverse the position and now he's in Green's guard. Nice work there by Bowling.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bowling wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position.
Roger Bowling has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Roger Bowling.
I think Green has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
