Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauri Ruoska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinhjo Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruoska comes to the cage accompanied by Sympathy for the Devil. On his way into the cage it seems that Mauri Ruoska has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mauri Ruoska seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mauri Ruoska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sinhjo Babalu! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruoska shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Babalu pinned against the cage. Babalu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Babalu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Babalu throws a strike aimed at the side of Ruoska's head but Ruoska avoids it well. Babalu tries to move to mount but Ruoska blocks the move with his legs. Babalu working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Babalu throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Babalu misses with the ground and pound. Babalu controls the position. Babalu working the ground and pound. Babalu misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lull in the action here. Babalu advances to mount. Babalu looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Babalu throws some wild stikes that Ruoska manages to avoid easily.
Babalu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babalu working away from the top, dropping strikes. Babalu trying to control but Ruoska is having none of it. Ruoska is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Babalu unloads with some shots from mount but Ruoska bucks and avoids them well.
Ruoska in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Babalu dominating with strikes here. Ruoska is squirming around, avoiding Babalu's attempts to control the action. Ruoska avoids a series of strikes thrown by Babalu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu controlling the pace for now. Babalu working the ground and pound effectively.
Babalu wants to control the pace but Ruoska is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Babalu content just to control the position here. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Babalu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babalu throws some wild stikes that Ruoska manages to avoid easily.

Babalu misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Babalu putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Ruoska is bucking up trying to escape but Babalu cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Babalu is landing with some decent strikes but Ruoska is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Babalu trying to control but Ruoska is having none of it. Babalu with a couple of short strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sinhjo Babalu dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Babalu scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ruoska blocks a head kick by Babalu.
Babalu tries to clinch up but Ruoska circles away and keeps his distance. Ruoska throws a poor cross that misses
and Babalu moves into the clinch. Babalu misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Ruoska.
Babalu tries to land knees in the clinch but Ruoska avoids the damage to the body. Ruoska lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Babalu wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ruoska has him pressed against the cage. Ruoska on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Babalu misses with an elbow strike.
Babalu goes for a takedown attempt but Ruoska pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ruoska throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruoska misses the shot to the body. Ruoska keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ruoska takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Ruoska thows a body shot but no joy. Ruoska throws a big shot that misses. Ruoska throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ruoska tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Babalu was well out of range. Poor timing from Ruoska. Babalu looks to land a combination. Ruoska sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruoska wants to slow Babalu down by chopping away at his legs. Babalu gets a double leg takedown into Ruoska's guard. Ruoska trying to control the position.
Sinhjo Babalu has got the better of the ground game so far. Babalu trying to control the position from guard on top but Ruoska is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Babalu advances position into side control! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ruoska wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Ruoska works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Nice strikes from Babalu there. Ruoska is trying to maintain the position but Babalu is very close to passing his half guard. Babalu trying to control the action but Ruoska is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babalu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ruoska defending well though. Babalu is keen to just control but Ruoska is a slippery customer. Ruoska is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Babalu scores with a couple of nice shots. Babalu missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Babalu is taking a breather. Ruoska says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Babalu wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ruoska keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Babalu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sinhjo Babalu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Babalu connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Ruoska takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Babalu has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ruoska takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Babalu misses with an uppercut. Ruoska takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Babalu tries a head kick but it misses.

and Babalu counters with a slapping leg kick. Babalu comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A nice inside leg kick there by Babalu. That's going to slow Ruoska down.

Babalu lands a nice looking kick to the body. Ruoska takes a step back to recover. Babalu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ruoska as he jumps to the side. Babalu fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. No luck with that takedown attempt from Babalu. Ruoska lands a slapping body shot.
Mauri Ruoska has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Babalu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ruoska has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ruoska and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Babalu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Babalu throws a sloppy head kick and Ruoska moves out of range easily. Babalu throws a chopping leg kick but Ruoska manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Ruoska throws a jab when Babalu was well out of range. Ruoska avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Babalu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ruoska sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Mauri Ruoska has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sinhjo Babalu. Ruoska takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Ruoska checks a low kick from Babalu. Babalu throws a hook but Ruoska avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A big right from Ruoska misses. A swing and a miss from Babalu. Ruoska is looking to wear down Babalu with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Babalu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Babalu trying to control the action but Ruoska is working from the bottom. Babalu sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Ruoska defending well though. Babalu trying to mount his opponent but Ruoska defends it. Babalu is stalling here. Ruoska is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Babalu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ruoska has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babalu manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Babalu is looking for a sweep. Ruoska is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ruoska landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ruoska thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Babalu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ruoska. Babalu is looking for a sweep. Ruoska is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ruoska wants to pass the guard but Babalu is defending well. Sinhjo Babalu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Babalu trying to control from the bottom.
Ruoska trying to mount his opponent but Babalu defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ruoska working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ruoska winds up and cracks Babalu with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Babalu keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Sinhjo Babalu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Babalu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
