Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carlos Ruiz!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fender pushes Ruiz away with a front kick.
Ruiz scores a takedown into full mount!
Fender can't escape the position.
Ruiz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fender hang on?
Poor strikes thrown by Ruiz there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Ruiz pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Fender wants to hold on but Ruiz pushes him away.
Ruiz is working for a guillotine from mount but Fender frees his head quite easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fender is working to get back to half guard.
Ruiz landing punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruiz cracks Fender with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ruiz throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Fender because Ruiz loaded up on that one.
Fender is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ruiz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Fender hang on?
Fender is desperately trying to improve his position but Ruiz has a good base and remains in mount.
Ruiz looking for a guillotine from mount but Fender is having none of it.
Ruiz is landing with some decent strikes but Fender is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Ruiz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Ruiz fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Fender is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruiz postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Fender badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Ruiz around the waist but Ruiz pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Ruiz is the winner by TKO! Ruiz jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Ruiz!
