Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Vegh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vegh comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park- The catalyst. Santiago is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kanye West - Stronger. Bobby Santiago told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Santiago! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vegh gets a double leg takedown into Santiago's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Vegh won't allow Santiago to sweep him here. Santiago looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Vegh has picked Santiago up and slammed him! Santiago can't keep hold of the triangle and Vegh manages to pass to side control! Santiago tries to improve position but can't. Vegh in side control, throwing shots but Santiago defends. Santiago gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Santiago wants to improve his position but Vegh is controlling well.
Santiago is in trouble now - Vegh has advanced to mount! Santiago tries to lock up and control but Vegh gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Vegh controlling the pace for now. Santiago bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Vegh drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Santiago dives on top into guard. Vegh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vegh is looking to stand up but Santiago isn't so interested in that idea. Santiago forces his way into half guard. Santiago is looking for a kimura but Vegh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Santiago to get the leverage. Santiago is trying to control. Vegh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Santiago has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vegh is squirming around, avoiding Santiago's attempts to control the action. Arnold Vegh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vegh tries to hold on but Santiago postures up. Santiago in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Santiago is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Vegh is surviving well by controlling Santiago's body position as best he can. Vegh is trying desperately to improve position.

Vegh is squirming around, avoiding Santiago's attempts to control the action. Santiago prevents Vegh from getting the reversal. Bobby Santiago has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Santiago scoring with strikes but Vegh is staying in there. Santiago lands a nice shot to the head.
