Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Anquisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anquisto defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rodriguez.

Anquisto closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rodriguez can't do much from the bottom here.

Anquisto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anquisto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Anquisto could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Anquisto wants to stand but Rodriguez has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Anquisto wants to stand and escape but instead Rodriguez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Anquisto might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Rodriguez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anquisto defends it nicely.

Anquisto tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rodriguez counters with a single leg into guard. Anquisto didn't expect that.
Anquisto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Rodriguez is controlling him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Anquisto is working an open guard so Rodriguez takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Anquisto as he avoids it easily.
Anquisto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Anquisto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberto Rodriguez dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rodriguez is working for a kimura but Anquisto is defending it quite comfortably.

Rodriguez has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Anquisto defend it? Rodriguez steps over the head and cranks it - Anquisto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rodriguez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roberto Rodriguez!
Roberto Rodriguez tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
