Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mutley Alcantara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alcantara has chosen Korn - Freak On A Leash as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larry Ross! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mutley Alcantara! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ross misses with a low kick. Alcantara takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Ross misses with the combination.
Ross looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ross gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Alcantara.
Ross escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ross misses with a few strikes there.
Nice straight punches there by Ross. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ross. Alcantara swats away the attempt to clinch by Ross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Ross.

Ross instigates a clinch. Ross escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Ross. Alcantara shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Alcantara moves out of range of the body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ross darts in and clinches Alcantara up against the cage. Ross breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ross fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ross closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ross lands in his opponent's guard. Alcantara is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alcantara tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ross stands and throws Alcantara's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ross thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ross tries to advance to mount but Alcantara instead regains half guard. Ross prevents Alcantara from improving his position. Ross is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alcantara tries to get to full guard but Ross has control of the leg. Ross is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Alcantara defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alcantara moves into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ross drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alcantara manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ross has Alcantara in his guard. Ross is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ross knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alcantara on the ground. Alcantara is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Alcantara passes Ross's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Alcantara is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alcantara passes to side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Larry Ross will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
No joy there for Ross, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ross connects with a single shot there. Ross misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ross darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Alcantara moves into full guard.
Alcantara looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ross passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alcantara knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Ross tries for a kimura but Alcantara is defending well. Ross stands up and we're back to a striking position. Larry Ross is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alcantara gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ross counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ross lands a shot to the body. Ross manages to break the clinch.
Ross shoots in and bounces Alcantara off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Alcantara has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ross can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alcantara is breathing heavily. Alcantara keeping full guard, as Ross tries to pass. Ross postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alcantara is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ross, into his guard. Alcantara advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alcantara tries to pass to full mount but Ross defends it. Alcantara wants to work for an arm triangle but Ross is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ross moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ross has his hands on Alcantara's head, controlling the position. Ross tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Alcantara drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ross dives on top into guard. Ross tries to free his leg and advance position but Alcantara is retaining full guard. Alcantara working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ross doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ross manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Alcantara looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Ross is looking for a kimura but Alcantara is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ross to get the leverage. Ross is trying to work for a kimura but Alcantara is defending well.
Alcantara actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ross is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ross is looking for submissions but instead, Alcantara has regained full guard.

Ross is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alcantara has escaped the position, nice work there. Alcantara manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Alcantara moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alcantara looking for a triangle here. Ross is fighting it but it looks tight! Alcantara pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ross is tapping out - this one is all over!
