Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gon Jai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Carter!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jai misses with a wild body shot.
Jai lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
It looks like Jack Carter has been cut.
Good exchange - Jai coming out on top.
Jai shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jai lands a leg kick that knocks Carter off balance momentarily.
Jai stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Carter shoots for a takedown but Jai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Carter avoids the head kick by Jai.
Jai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A left lands for Jai.
Carter is rocked!
Carter leaves his chin hanging out and Jai seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Carter crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gon Jai!
An out of breath Gon Jai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
