Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Muay Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Irvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Irvin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irvin closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Irvin pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Gracie has closed the distance and engaged Irvin in a clinch.
Gracie has picked Irvin up - he's going for a ride! Gracie dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

and Gracie counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Irvin!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie feints and as Irvin raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Irvin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gracie pushes Irvin off and gets back to his feet.
Gracie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gracie here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That was a close second round but I would say that Muay Gracie will probably get the nod.
