Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrea Tama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Manta! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrea Tama! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice combination there by Manta.
Tama shoots in but Manta avoids the takedown attempt easily. Manta shoots in and drives through. Tama sprawls well. Manta closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Tama's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Manta trying to control but Tama is working from the bottom. Tama working a defensive guard here.
Tama wants to stand and escape but Manta is having none of it. Manta passes into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Manta wants to pass the guard but Tama is defending well. Tama is staying active underneath Manta, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Manta wants to take a breather but Tama is having none of it. Tama is pressing down on Manta's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Tama has his hands on Manta's head, controlling the position. Tama throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Manta escapes and throws Tama's legs to the side, diving into side control! Tama is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Manta is going to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tama is staying active underneath Manta, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Tama is trying to maintain the position but Manta is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andrea Tama wasn't active enough on the ground. Tama is looking to clinch.

Tama looks gassed! The fight stays on the outside here - Manta looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tama shoots in and drives through. Manta sprawls well. Daniel Manta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrea Tama. Tama shoots in looking for a takedown. Manta tries to sprawl out of it but Tama keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Manta manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Manta ducks down and throws a hook to the body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Manta scores with a takedown into Tama's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manta clinches. Tama jumps guard but Manta stands there with Tama around his waist. Tama gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tama keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Manta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tama to the ground. Manta is now in Tama's guard. Manta has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tama controlling Manta's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Manta drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Tama dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manta is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Manta looking for a sweep. Not yet Manta, not yet. Tama is pushing down on Manta's leg trying to pass to half guard. Manta is fighting to maintain full guard but Tama has managed to sneak the leg through. Tama not doing much here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tama looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Tama trying to mount his opponent but Manta defends it. Tama has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Manta is bucking up trying to escape but Tama cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tama is in the full mount, landing strikes. Tama controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrea Tama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Manta misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tama leaves Manta with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Manta tries to sprawl but Tama drives through with a takedown into half guard. Manta manages to get to full guard.

Tama works his way into side control. Tama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Manta taking a bit of punishment here - Tama scoring with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manta tries to buck Tama off but Tama is having none of it. Manta wants to control but Tama postures up. Tama remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Tama tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Manta prevents Tama from improving position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tama working away. Tama lands an elbow. Tama decides to take the fight back to the feet. Tama shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tama showed some decent athleticism there. Tama is pressing down on Manta's thigh, looking to free his foot. Manta is holding on for now.

Tama is looking to take a break and control but Manta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tama performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
