Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jerzy Kosinski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mat Jimenez! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Jimenez or perhaps it was just good defense by Kosinski which made him look bad. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jimenez. Jimenez working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Kosinski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jimenez on the ground. Jimenez swings around for an armbar but Kosinski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jimenez's guard. Kosinski wanted to stand there but Jimenez had control of the position. Jimenez pushes Kosinski off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jimenez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jimenez shoots for a double leg takedown but Kosinski sprawls well. He's pushed Jimenez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jerzy Kosinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mat Jimenez. A right-left combo lands from Kosinski.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kosinski darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jimenez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kosinski keeps the fight on the outside. Kosinski lands a nice hook to Jimenez's body. Jimenez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Jimenez looks gassed! Jimenez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kosinski stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kosinski with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kosinski lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jimenez at a distance.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jimenez shoots in looking for a takedown but Kosinski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jimenez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A jab from Kosinski finds it's way through Jimenez's defenses. Kosinski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jerzy Kosinski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jimenez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Kosinski displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Jimenez takes one on the button. Kosinski fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jimenez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kosinski moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jimenez is rocked! Kosinski is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Jimenez hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
