Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jerry Perry!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lewis tries to sprawl but Perry drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Perry decides to return to a standing position.
Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Perry pushes him off.
Perry shoots in but Lewis avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Perry paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Perry shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Perry was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee warns Lewis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lewis wants to hold on but Perry pushes him away.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis tries to hold on but Perry pushes him away.

It looks like Perry might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Perry has Lewis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Perry pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lewis tumbling to the mat - Perry dives into Lewis's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's time! Lewis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Lewis is working an open guard so Perry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Perry feints and as Lewis raises his hands in defense, Perry changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lewis is trying to keep Perry in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Perry looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Lewis tries to kick Perry off but Perry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Perry looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jerry Perry hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Lewis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Perry is looking to break free of the clinch but Lewis has double underhooks.

Perry darts in and clinches Lewis up against the cage.

Perry has picked Lewis up - he's going for a ride! Perry dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Lewis regains full guard. Nicely done.
Perry prevents Lewis from getting back to his feet.
Jerry Perry has got the better of the ground game so far.
Perry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jerry Perry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
