Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Shurk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skarbowsky kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lux Aeterna. Shurk has chosen Achy Breaky Heart as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jean Charles Skarbowsky could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shawn Shurk's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jean Charles Skarbowsky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Shurk! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shurk shoots in for a double leg but Skarbowsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Shurk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Shurk is trying hard to land a takedown here. Skarbowsky sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Skarbowsky slips a straight right by Shurk. Shurk tries for a takedown but Skarbowsky circles away easily and Skarbowsky counters with a good low kick that Shurk was not able to check. Jean Charles Skarbowsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Shurk. Shurk swings for the body but Skarbowsky moves out of range.
Shurk connects with a crisp jab. Shurk keeps the fight on the outside. Shurk misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shurk misses the shot to the body. Shurk shoots in looking for a takedown. Skarbowsky tries to sprawl out of it but Shurk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Skarbowsky manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Shurk closes the distance and clinches up with Skarbowsky, looking for a takedown. Shurk pushes Skarbowsky against the cage but Skarbowsky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shurk misses with a lunging right hand
and Skarbowsky counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Shurk lands with a hook. Skarbowsky tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Shurk misses with an uppercut
and Skarbowsky counters with a leg kick. Shurk looks gassed! Shurk misses with a hook to the body
and Skarbowsky counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Shawn Shurk has been cut. Skarbowsky scores with a spinning back kick! Skarbowsky scores with a head kick. Shurk tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Shurk misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Skarbowsky makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Skarbowsky gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Skarbowsky leaning his opponent against the cage. Skarbowsky landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Skarbowsky creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Skarbowsky lands a nice knee to the body. Skarbowsky prevents a takedown attempt there.

Shurk is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shurk is looking for a takedown. Skarbowsky scores with a knee to the head.
Shurk is still on wobbly legs! Can Skarbowsky finish him? Skarbowsky pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A shot to the body from Shurk misses and Skarbowsky counters with a lead uppercut that lands right on the button! Shurk goes down! Will Shurk beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's up! No problem. Let's get back to the action! A slapping body kick lands there for Skarbowsky. Skarbowsky has taken the fight to the clinch.
Skarbowsky will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Shurk up against the cage. Skarbowsky is looking to control Shurk's arms but Shurk gets an underhook and turns him. Now Skarbowsky has his back to the cage. Shurk is looking to take this one to the mat. Shurk seems to have recovered his senses. Skarbowsky connects with a knee to the head.
That has opened up Shawn Shurk's cut even more. Skarbowsky stalling the fight.
Shurk has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Shurk is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A knee to the head by Skarbowsky.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Skarbowsky has Shurk tight in a Thai clinch... and there's a huge knee which drops Shurk to the floor. He's out cold!! I hope he's still got all his teeth!
