Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Matson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daigon Kins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Matson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daigon Kins! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matson lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Matson looks to land a left hand but Kins moved out of range nicely. Matson lands with a nice body punch. Matson looks to throw the jab but Kins is out of range. Kins throws a head kick that misses. Kins swings for the body but Matson moves out of range.
Kins cracks Matson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Kins misses with a body kick. Kins throws a predictable looking body shot
and Matson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Good exchange - Kins coming out on top. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matson cracks a nice hook into Kins's ribs. Kins shoots in for a takedown but Matson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Matson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kins. Matson tries to bum rush Kins with a series of wild strikes but Kins uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Matson shoots for a double leg takedown but Kins sprawls well. He's pushed Matson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Matson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kins on the side of the head. Matson moves out of range of the body kick from Kins.

Matson cracks Kins with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Matson throws a jab but it's blocked by Kins. Kins thows a body shot but no joy. Kins throws a half hearted mid kick. Matson throws a right hand that Kins ducks under and follows up with a left that Kins also avoids with ease. Kins digs a good body shot into Matson's ribs. Matson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kins misses the body punch and Matson counters with a nice uppercut. Kins tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Matson is able to avoid easily. Kins takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

This has been an exciting period of action! Kins lands an overhand right. Matson lands a jab to Kins's midsection. Matson throws a leg kick but Kins checks it. Kins swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Daigon Kins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matson throws a combination. Kins tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kins jabs at Matson's body. Matson throws out a loose jab but Kins uses good head movement to avoid it. Matson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kins. Kins circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kins chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kins thuds a left hand into Matson's body. Matson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kins. Kins obviously looking to wear him down.
Matson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kins is looking to slow Matson down with leg kicks. Kins moves away from the strike by Matson. Kins lands a right hook to the body.

Kins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Matson is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Matson tries to lock up and control but Kins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kins looking to secure an arm triangle but Matson defends it well. Matson tries to hold on but Kins pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kins lands a big shot there that rocks Matson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kins avoids the attempt from Matson to control. Kins looking to finish Matson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Matson! Kins controlling the position easily from mount. Matson manages to regain half guard. Good work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Matson desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Matson wants to improve his position but Kins is controlling well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kins connects with a nice short shot to Matson's temple. Kins trying to control the action but Matson is working from the bottom. Kins missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Matson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Matson regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matson has his hands on Kins's head, controlling the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Matson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Matson trying to keep a closed guard but Kins is proving a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Daigon Kins will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kins jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kins misses with an uppercut
and Matson counters with a left to the body. Kins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matson but Matson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Matson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kins. Matson takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kins cracks Matson with a right hand to the side of the head. Josh Matson is winning the standup battle so far. Matson lands a nice shot that snaps Kins's head back.

Kins feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Matsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Kins moves forwards but Matson connects with a nice, crisp jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kins tries a head kick but it misses.
Kins wants to land a leg kick but Matson is out of range. Kins throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Matson throws a chopping leg kick but Kins manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Kins is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Matson rather than just go for the knockout. Matson motions for Kins to come forward. Matson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Matson has his hands clasped together around Kins's back. He's all about the action. Matson is not content to let Kins control the position. Kins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Matson is trying to maintain the position but Kins is very close to passing his half guard. Matson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kins. Matson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kins wants to take a breather but Matson is having none of it. Matson is trying to maintain the position but Kins is very close to passing his half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Matson digs a good body shot into Kins's ribs.

Danga de danga de dang - Matson scores with a four punch combination! Kins throws a wild body kick that Matson sees coming a mile off. Kins fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kins uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Matson. Matson lands a slapping body shot.
Kins is breathing heavily. No joy there for Matson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kins is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Matson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kins is still on wobbly legs! Can Matson finish him? Matson lands a nice looking body shot.
Matson throws an overhand right that drops Kins like a sack of potatoes! Matson dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Matson! Josh Matson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
