Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenneth Mensah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mensah is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Pour Some Sugar On Me. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Escobar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenneth Mensah! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mensah misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A slow jab from Mensah misses its intended target. Escobar closes the distance and pushes Mensah back into the cage. Escobar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Escobar tries to bum rush Mensah with a series of wild strikes but Mensah uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Escobar closes the distance and pushes Mensah back into the cage. Escobar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Escobar moves away from the strike by Mensah. Mensah loads up on a big right hand but Escobar slips the punch. Escobar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mensah circles away. Mensah swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Escobar. Mensah pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Escobar back to the cage. Mensah follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Mensah lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mensah. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mensah ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mensah moves in looking to clinch but Escobar pushes him off. Escobar lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Escobar fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mensah avoids it really well and circles away. Escobar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mensah.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobar keeps the fight on the outside. Mensah lands with a hook. Escobar tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Mensah throws a nice looking combination but Escobar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mensah misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Escobar.
Escobar has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mensah has had enough of the clinch but Escobar keeps him there for the moment. Escobar manages to pull guard.
Mensahis looking to pass into half guard but Escobar pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Escobar is in guard. Mensah really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Escobar stopping the sweep attempt from Mensah.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Escobar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mensah, up you get! Escobar tries to close the distance and clinch but Mensah swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Escobar tries to clinch but Mensah moves out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Escobar throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kenneth Mensah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Escobar has closed the distance and engaged Mensah in a clinch.
Mensah working hard to break the clinch. Mensah has had enough of the clinch but Escobar keeps him there for the moment. Mensah wants to break free but Escobar has control.
A frustrated look appears on Mensah's face as he tries to break the clinch. Escobar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A right-left combo lands from Mensah. Escobar moves away from the strike by Mensah. Escobar slips a jab from Mensah. Mensah misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mensah tries to bench press Escobar off him but Escobar keeps the position. Mensah is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Escobar off and has taken his back! Escobar looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Mensah is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Escobar defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mensah is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mensah gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mensah gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mensah apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mensah throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mensah tries to sprawl but Escobar drives through with a takedown into half guard. Mensah scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Escobar manages to mount him!

Escobar is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mensah to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mensah shrugs it off. Mensah working to try and regain half guard.
Escobar content just to control the position here. Escobar putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mensah is trying desperately to improve position. Mensah is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Kenneth Mensah will probably get the nod. That's time! Escobar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Escobar shoots in looking for a takedown but Mensah manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Escobar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Escobar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mensah dips to his left and cracks Escobar with an uppercut! Escobar scores with a three punch combo!
Escobar closes the distance and clinches up with Mensah, looking for a takedown. Escobar pushes Mensah against the cage but Mensah circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Escobar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mensah throws a shot from downtown. Escobar moves away and avoids it. Escobar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mensah scores with a body shot.

and Escobar counters with a flying knee. Nice. Escobar uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mensah. Escobar tries to clinch up. Escobar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mensah is fending him off so far but Escobar persists. Nope, Mensah circles away and we're back to standing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mensah misses with a head kick.

Escobar is rocked! Mensah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mensah misses the jab. Mensah misses with an uppercut. Mensah misses with a straight left. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mensah walks into a straight right hand from Escobar. Escobar blocks a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mensah misses with a double jab
and Escobar counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mensah's guard now. Escobar wants to pass the guard but Mensah is keeping the position. Escobar slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Mensah looking for a sweep but Escobar has passed into full mount! Oh no! Mensah is looking to improve his position but Escobar isn't that keen on the idea. Escobar has hold of Mensah's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mensah manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobar wants to control the pace but Mensah is squirming around nicely. Escobar is landing with some decent strikes but Mensah is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Mensah stops Escobar from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Escobar has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Mensah is forced to tap!
