Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Garris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garris comes to the cage accompanied by Blowin Money Fast by: Rick Ross. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rex Garris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rock Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a head kick but Garris moves out of range.
Garris checks the leg kick.
Johnson throws a solid leg kick but Garris takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Johnson.
Garris throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Garris sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Garris wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garris keeps working.

Garris looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson is thwarting Garris's attempts to control the position.

Garris is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Garris wants to improve his position but Johnson is controlling well.

Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Garris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rock Johnson.

Johnson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Garris on his heels. He'll look to pass Garris's guard now, I'm sure.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Garris is on top in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Johnson holds on and takes a little breather.

Garris gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Garris.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Garris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Garris stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Garris wants it to stay on the feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Johnson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Garris - the referee stops the clock and Johnson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Garris. Johnson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Garris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Garris defending well as Johnson loads up on a big left hand.
Garris lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Garris.

A looping hook to the body misses from Garris. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Garris wants to get back to his feet.

Garris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Johnson pulls his head out easily.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Garris gets back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Garris kicks Johnson off and gets to his feet.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garris napping and manages to drive through into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Garris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garris somewhat.

Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Garris managing to block the knees to the body from Johnson.
Johnson goes for a takedown attempt but Garris pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Garris closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
Johnson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Johnson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Garris has taken the fight into the clinch.
Garris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Garris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Johnson.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Johnson gets through Garris's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Johnson wants the takedown. Garris is fighting it off but Johnson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Garris's guard against the cage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rock Johnson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Rex Garris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A solid leg kick lands there for Johnson.
Johnson cracks Garris with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson.

Johnson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson controls from within his opponent's guard.

Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Garris working for a triangle but Johnson defends it easily.
Garris can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Johnson prevents Garris from improving his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Johnson moves into full mount! Garris won't be happy about that!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Garris doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Garris has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a thumping low kick.
Garris sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Garris takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson has closed the distance and engaged Garris in a clinch.

Garris is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Garris down to the mat. Garris avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Garris. Garris gets slowly back to his feet.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garris looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Johnson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rock Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Johnson tries to clinch but Garris is having none of it.
Garris slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Garris misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rex Garris. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Garris takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Johnson throws out a powerful jab.
Garris takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Garris avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A solid leg kick lands there for Johnson.
Garris fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson tries to clinch but Garris moves out of range.
Rock Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Garris circles away.

Garris wants a takedown.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Garris has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Garris jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Garris around his waist. Garris gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Garris has Johnson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Johnson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Johnson lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Rex Garris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Garris tries to land a knee to the head but Johnson blocks with his arms.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rock Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
