PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Gilmour (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baby Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bean has chosen The Baby Bean song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Gilmour!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Baby Bean!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilmour gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Bean.
Bean displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gilmour throws out the jab.
Bean connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bean loads up on a big right hand but Gilmour slips the punch.
Bean misses with a straight left.
Bean looks to throw the jab but Gilmour is out of range.
Gilmour fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bean manages to avoid it.
Gilmour throws a hook to the side of Bean's head but Bean sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bean instigates a clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bean wants to get back to striking at distance but Gilmour won't allow it.
Bean wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gilmour is trying to break the clinch but Bean is controlling him.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bean.

Gilmour breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gilmour clobbers Bean with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Baby Bean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gilmour swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Gilmour cracks a nice hook into Bean's ribs.
Bean moves forwards but Gilmour connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Gilmour smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Gilmour misses with a looping left.
Gilmour lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bean displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gilmour throws out the jab.
Bean misses with a hook. Gilmour ducked under it nicely.
Bean fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gilmour looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Gilmour throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gilmour thuds his right hand into Bean's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gilmour takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bean misses with a double jab.
Bean uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gilmour.
Gilmour shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Bean missing with a left hand there. Gilmour was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gilmour misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bean.
Bean takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Bean fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Bean is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gilmour.
Gilmour throws a right hand that misses
and Bean counters with a nice uppercut.
Bean wants to clinch.
Bean moves out of range as Gilmour strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gilmour avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gilmour tried to score with a low kick but Bean checks it.
Bean throws a hook but Gilmour avoids it easily.
Bean throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Gilmour staying out of range there.
Bean might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Decent striking displayed by Gilmour there.

Bean cracks Gilmour with a big right hand and Gilmour goes down!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gilmour wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gilmour wants to stand and escape but Bean is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bean wants to stand but Gilmour has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gilmour swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gilmour has his hands on Bean's head, controlling the position.

We're going to have a standup here because David Gilmour wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Gilmour checks a low kick from Bean.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bean throws an overhand right that lands on Gilmour's shoulder, as Gilmour tries to avoid the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Baby Bean dominated that round.
That's time! Gilmour's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bean thows a body shot but no joy.
Gilmour scores with a body shot.
Gilmour misses with a left hand

and Bean moves into the clinch.
Bean wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gilmour has him pressed against the cage.
Gilmour working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Gilmour blocks an uppercut.
Bean is trying to force a seperation but Gilmour has the dominant position.
Bean can't break the clinch.
Gilmour stalling in the clinch but Bean improves position.
Bean swings wildly with an uppercut but Gilmour uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bean is trying to push Gilmour away but Gilmour has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Gilmour prevents Bean from breaking the clinch.
Gilmour lands an uppercut.
Bean looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bean tries to break free but Gilmour pushes him back against the cage.

Gilmour breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gilmour avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gilmour uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bean.
Gilmour slips under a jab.
Bean misses with a straight right.
Bean throws a head kick that misses
and Gilmour counters with a straight right hand.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Bean in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Gilmour scores with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gilmour drops Bean with a big left hand! Bean is injured, injured bad! Gilmour jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Gilmour!
Our winner, David Gilmour, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
