Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jason Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, el Pablo!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pablo closes the distance and clinches up with Taylor, looking for a takedown. Pablo pushes Taylor against the cage but Taylor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pablo shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Pablo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Taylor counters with a stiff right hand.
Jason Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of el Pablo.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.

Pablo has clasped his hands together around Taylor's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Taylor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Taylor gets back to full guard.
Pablo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pablo looking to sit in guard and control but Taylor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Taylor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pablo can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Taylor throws a big right hand that misses.
Taylor lands a couple of digs.
Taylor slips nicely into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Taylor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Taylor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pablo's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pablo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Taylor pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, if Taylor is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jason Taylor spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
