Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, George King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Mint!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King lands with a right hand.
Mint avoids the head kick by King.
A leg kick checked by Mint.
Mint avoids the head kick by King.
Mint showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from King.
Mint thows a body shot but no joy.
Mint fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away.
King looking to land some kicks to the body here.

King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
King throws a body kick that misses.
King misses with a hook. Mint ducked under it nicely.
King throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mint.
King pulls out of a head kick attempt.
King misses with a double jab

and Mint counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard.
Mint stops King from standing up.

Mint works over King with some ground and pound from guard.

Mint stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Mint uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from King.
King misses with a head kick.
King moves out of range of the body kick.
King is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mint.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and King counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mint's knee momentarily.

King throws the left hand but Mint avoids the punch easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

George King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mint misses with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mint fakes high and swings low for a body shot but King manages to avoid it.

King uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mint.

King does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Mint misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
King throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Mint slips a straight right by King.
Mint blocks a head kick by King.
Mint throws a body punch but King moves out of range.
Mint slips a jab and a cross from King.

George King is winning the standup battle so far.
King fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
King throws out a loose jab but Mint uses good head movement to avoid it.
King keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
King throws a right hand that Mint ducks under and follows up with a left that Mint also avoids with ease.
King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Mint throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

King throws a looping overhand right but Mint ducks down to avoid it.
King throws a head kick that half lands.
King throws a head kick but Mint moves out of range.
Mint throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mint moves out of range of the body kick.
King swinging wildly here.
King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mint pivots, looking for a leg kick but King is out of range and Mint settles back down.
King thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mint is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down King rather than just go for the knockout.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Mint dodges the punch combination from King.

King throws a combination. Mint tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mint slips a jab from King.
King throws a leg kick but Mint moved away.
King throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
King cracks Mint with an open hand slap.

King misses with a body punch

and Mint decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard.
Mint is in close to King's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mint passes into half guard.
Mint seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
King is looking to improve his position.
Mint is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mint slips a nice elbow through King's hands, connecting with King's forehead.
Mint is trying to control. King wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mint looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
King is looking for a sweep. Mint is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
King wants to sweep but Mint has passed to side control!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mint cracks King with a big right hand but King just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mint working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Check out the look on Mint's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Mint wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
Mint connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused King some visible discomfort.

Mint prevents King from escaping the position.

King is letting Mint control him for a moment.
Mint lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Mint tries to advance to mount but King denies him.
Michael Mint has got the better of the ground game so far.
You can see the frustration on King's face as Mint controls the position.
Mint looks up at the clock and then as King takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mint smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King is looking to regain half guard here but Mint keeps moving and retains side control.
Mint creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Mint working the body and head with strikes.
Mint has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mint is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mint lands an elbow.
Mint working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Mint in side control lands a decent elbow.
Mint moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
George King is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
King is trying to get back to half guard.
Michael Mint has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
