Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masaya Erta Ale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Martin! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erta Ale tries to land a leg kick but Martin saw it coming and moves away.
Erta Ale blocks a head kick by Martin.
Erta Ale takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Martin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Martin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A good leg kick by Martin. Erta Ale lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martin circles away quickly and effectively. A looping hook to the body misses from Erta Ale. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet. Martin moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Erta Ale throws a right hand that Martin ducks under and follows up with a left that Martin also avoids with ease. Martin throws a low kick, looking for Erta Ale's leg but Erta Ale calmly moves out of range. Erta Ale manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martin on his heels. He'll look to pass Martin's guard now, I'm sure. This has been an exciting period of action! Erta Ale in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Erta Ale tries to free his leg and advance position but Martin is retaining full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Erta Ale accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Martin has his foot on Erta Ale's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Erta Ale works his way back into a safe position though. Martin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Erta Ale looking to sit in guard and control but Martin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Erta Ale keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Erta Ale had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily. Erta Ale trying to keep a closed guard but Martin is proving a slippery customer.
Martin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Martin wants to pass the guard but Erta Ale is keeping the position. Erta Ale looking for a guillotine here but Martin defends easily.

Martin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Martin looking to pass the guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Erta Ale had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Erta Ale keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lenny Martin will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Martin motions for Erta Ale to come forward. Martin throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A swing and a miss from Erta Ale. Martin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Erta Ale. A bone on bone clash there as Martin blocks the leg kick.
Martin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Martin throws a head kick that Erta Ale semi-blocks.

Martin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Lenny Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Erta Ale throws the left hand but Martin avoids the punch easily. Erta Ale checks a low kick from Martin. Martin throws out a leg kick but Erta Ale moves out of range and Martin only half commits. Martin blocks a head kick by Erta Ale.
Erta Ale will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Erta Ale walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Martin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Martin connects with a high kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin misses with a hook. Erta Ale ducked under it nicely. Erta Ale is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Martin misses with a head kick.
Lenny Martin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Martin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Martin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Erta Ale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Erta Ale fails with a takedown attempt. Good work by Erta Ale as he checks the leg kick. Martin keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Erta Ale takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Martin does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Martin misses with a low kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A big right from Erta Ale misses. Martin throws a nice outside leg kick. Martin pivots, looking for a leg kick but Erta Ale is out of range and Martin settles back down. Erta Ale fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Martin sprawls well initially but Erta Ale persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Martin looking for submissions off his back. Martin wants to improve his position but Erta Ale is controlling well.
Martin has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Erta Ale escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Erta Ale! Martin tries to bench press Erta Ale off him but Erta Ale keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Erta Ale working the ground and pound but Martin is defending the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin is not content to let Erta Ale control the position. A control attempt from Martin but he's now mounted! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Erta Ale trying to control but Martin is having none of it. Masaya Erta Ale overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Erta Ale prevents Martin from getting the reversal. Erta Ale is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Martin has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Martin is trying desperately to improve position. Erta Ale thowing shots but they're missing. Erta Ale pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Erta Ale misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Erta Ale jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Martin manages to avoid the submission attempt. Martin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Erta Ale's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Masaya Erta Ale dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A slow jab from Martin misses its intended target. Martin lands a leg kick that knocks Erta Ale off balance momentarily. Erta Ale pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Erta Ale moves out of range of the leg kick from Martin. Martin shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Erta Ale shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Erta Ale keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Erta Ale avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Lenny Martin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Martin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Erta Ale trying to control from half guard but Martin is working away. Erta Ale is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Martin sees it coming and defends easily. Erta Ale looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Martin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Erta Ale's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Erta Ale's back! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Erta Ale trying to control the action but Martin just sinks the hooks in. Martin patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Erta Ale manages to reverse the position and now he's in Martin's guard. Nice work there by Erta Ale.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Erta Ale drops back looking for a leg! Martin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Martin manages to kick Erta Ale off! Erta Ale jumps back into Martin's guard. Erta Ale trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Martin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Erta Ale passes into side control.
Erta Ale looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Martin is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Erta Ale advances to mount. Erta Ale moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Martin has worked his arm free - good work by Martin!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martin manages to get back to half guard. Erta Ale is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Martin has managed to free his arm - good work. Martin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Martin is trying to maintain the position but Erta Ale is very close to passing his half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin regains full guard. Nicely done. Erta Ale pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martin is keeping the position for now.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Masaya Erta Ale. I think Erta Ale has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
