PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Parts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Boris Brejcha - Openminded. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anthony Parts!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Parts throws a shot from downtown. Gracie moves away and avoids it.
Gracie tries to clinch

and Parts counters by moving into the clinch.

Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Parts is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.
Parts is looking to escape.

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Parts turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.

Parts bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parts avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Gracie is breathing heavily.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Parts holds him up against the cage and eventually Gracie drops back down to his feet.

Gracie drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Parts dives on top into guard.

Gracie is looking for a triangle here but Parts uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Parts is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is looking for a sweep.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gracie gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gracie is not content to let Parts control the position.

That was a close round but I would say that Ricardo Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Parts buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gracie manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Parts must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ricardo Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fighters circle momentarily. Parts darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
