The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duong shoots in for a double leg but Nomo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Duong scores with a takedown into Nomo's guard.

Duong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nomo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Duong wants to work for an arm triangle but Nomo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duong sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nomo's guard.

Duong is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Duong is pressing down on Nomo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nomo is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duong is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Nomo has managed to free his arm - good work.

Duong uses his free foot to push down on Nomo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nomo.

Duong wants to finish this one by submission but Nomo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Duong.

Nomo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Duong's guard. Nice work there by Nomo.
Nomo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duong swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Duong escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nomo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nomo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Duong is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Nomo rolls with it to try and escape but Duong cranks on the arm and Nomo is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
