The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Kelly. Beautiful body shot.
Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss.
Griggs checks a leg kick.
Griggs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kelly circles away quickly and effectively.

Griggs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Griggs throwing strikes here but Kelly is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Kelly is squirming around, avoiding Griggs's attempts to control the action.
Griggs scoring with strikes but Kelly is staying in there.

Griggs moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kelly has worked his arm free - good work by Kelly!

Griggs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Griggs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Griggs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kelly knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Griggs looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kelly is avoiding damage well.

Griggs has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Griggs lands a big shot there that rocks Kelly but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Kelly is desperately trying to improve his position but Griggs has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griggs jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kelly manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Griggs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kelly is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Griggs has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kelly is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Griggs yanks on the arm and Kelly is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Griggs.
