Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic throws a right hand that misses
and Knees counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Knees thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Filipovic's head.
Knees is trying to control the action in half guard but Filipovic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Knees uses his free foot to push down on Filipovic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Filipovic.
Poor strikes thrown by Knees there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Knees has hold of Filipovic's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Filipovic manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Knees tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Knees thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Knees looking to ground and pound but Filipovic is blocking nicely.
Filipovic is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Knees trying to control but Filipovic is having none of it.
Knees is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Filipovic has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Filipovic!

Filipovic wanted to stand there but Knees had control of the position.
Knees is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Filipovic is aware though and is defending well.
Filipovic is looking to stand up but Knees won't let him.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Knees looking to hit a scissor sweep but Filipovic is one step ahead there.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Filipovic wants to stand and escape but instead Knees has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knees is in close to Filipovic's body, working some short punches and elbows.
