Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rennon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell has chosen Wiz Khalifa-Black And Yellow as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rennon Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Liddell! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably and Liddell counters by moving into the clinch. Liddell jumps guard.
Liddell controlling the position. Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Liddell thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Silva throws an elbow that misses. Liddell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Silva's guard. Nice move by Liddell! Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Liddell controls the pace. Liddell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Liddell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Liddell tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Brian Liddell hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Liddell keeps the fight on the outside. Liddell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Liddell cracks Silva with a big elbow. Silva struggling a bit here. Liddell controls the position. Liddell decides to take the fight back to the feet. A low kick from Silva is predictable there and Liddell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Liddell staying calm.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddell lands some shots froms side control. Silva taking a bit of punishment here - Liddell scoring with strikes. Liddell stands up. Liddell throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Liddell shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva has momentary wrist control but Liddell slips an elbow through the middle. Silva is breathing heavily. Liddell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva working a defensive guard but Liddell passes into half guard.
Silva is trying to get back to full guard. Liddell controlling the action here. Liddell works his foot free and advances to mount. Liddell landing shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddell controlling his opponent. Liddell landing strikes, looking to finish! Silva is in a horrible position here. Liddell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Liddell with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Liddell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Liddell distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Liddell gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Silva throws a low kick but Liddell moves out of range easily. Liddell darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Liddell frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Liddell lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Liddell stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Rennon Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Liddell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage. Liddell avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.
Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Liddell just stands there and leans against the cage. Liddell has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Silva uses from the top position. Brian Liddell has got the better of the ground game so far. Liddell pushes Silva off and gets back to his feet.

He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Liddell controlling his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. BOOM! Liddell connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That is not cool. Silva sneaks back into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Liddell uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva. Liddell content just to control the position here. Liddell dominating with strikes here. Liddell with a couple of short strikes. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Liddell controlling the position easily from mount.

Liddell lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Rennon Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silva is wriggling around trying to escape.
