Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hakuna Matata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Orsolics (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hans Orsolics is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hakuna Matata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hans Orsolics!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matata looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Orsolics is fending him off so far but Matata persists. Nope, Orsolics circles away and we're back to standing.
Matata shoots in but no luck this time.
Matata misses with a takedown attempt - Orsolics sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakuna Matata. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Orsolics clinches.
Orsolics wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
with the fighters clinched against the cage, Orsolics creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Orsolics shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Orsolics was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Orsolics scoring with strikes but Matata is staying in there.
Matata can't escape the position.

Orsolics working for a guillotine from mount but Matata is in no mood to give up.

Orsolics wants to finish this one by submission but Matata is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Orsolics.

Orsolics is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Matata can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Orsolics putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Orsolics stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Orsolics tries to clinch but Matata is having none of it.
Orsolics is looking to clinch.
Orsolics has his takedown stuffed

and Matata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Matata is breathing heavily.
Matata forces his way into half guard.
Orsolics tries to roll over but Matata keeps him under control.

Matata is trying to work for a kimura but Orsolics is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Orsolics looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Matata frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Matata has hold of Orsolics's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Orsolics manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Orsolics is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Orsolics regains half guard.
Orsolics misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Orsolics slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Matata passes Orsolics's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Orsolics is trying to get back to full guard.

Matata is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Matata is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Matata prevents Orsolics from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orsolics is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Orsolics manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Orsolics really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matata. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Matata passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Matata is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Orsolics knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Matata tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Matata has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Orsolics is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hakuna Matata dominated that round.

Orsolics will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Matata counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Orsolics doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Orsolics wants to sweep but no luck.
Matata slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Matata has hold of Orsolics's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Orsolics tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Matata cranks the arm and Orsolics screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Orsolics, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hakuna Matata!
