Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kim Boshesh! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summers fails with a takedown attempt. Boshesh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Boshesh lands in his opponent's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Boshesh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Summers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boshesh tries to free his leg and advance position but Summers is retaining full guard. Summers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boshesh manages to get himself to full guard.
Boshesh looking for a sweep. Not yet Boshesh, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boshesh manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Summers in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Summers is looking to improve his position but Boshesh isn't that keen on the idea. Boshesh fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Summers is in all sorts of trouble here.
Summers takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Boshesh has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Summers's face.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Summers is in a horrible position here. Boshesh smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Summers sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Boshesh winds up and cracks Summers with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Boshesh lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Summers has hold of Boshesh's hands but Boshesh slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Summers is rocked! Boshesh lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Summers! More strikes land and this one is all over! Boshesh jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kim Boshesh! In his post fight interview, Kim Boshesh started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
