Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ceaser Sarney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Martin! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sarney to the mat! Sarney manages to get full guard. Martin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Martin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sarney is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Martin trying to control the position from guard on top but Sarney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin throwing strikes from guard but Sarney blocks nicely. Sarney is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Martin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sarney's head. Martin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sarney keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. Martin's corner is telling him to maintain position. Martin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sarney throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James Martin was stalling too much, according to the referee. Sarney fails in his attempt to clinch. Sarney has closed the distance and engaged Martin in a clinch.
Sarney lands a good knee to the midsection. Martin won't want to take too many of those. Sarney is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Martin blocks a body shot from Sarney. Martin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

It looks like James Martin has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Martin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Martin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sarney swivels and escapes. Martin looks gassed! Martin instigates a clinch. Sarney lands a shoulder strike. Martin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sarney lands with a hook. Martin tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Sarney blocks the body kick.
Sarney wants to clinch up but Martin keeps it at a distance. Sarney misses with a looping right. Martin throws a head kick that misses. Sarney tries to clinch there but Martin circles away.
Sarney closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Sarney prevents Martin from breaking the clinch. Martin has a couple of punches blocked by Sarney.
Sarney stops a takedown attempt from Martin.
Ceaser Sarney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Martin. Sarney gets underhooks to prevent Martin's takedown attempt.
Sarney throws a knee to the head but misses.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Sarney. Martin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sarney throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martin. Martin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sarney paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin fakes the leg kick and cracks Sarney in the body. Sarney instigates a clinch. A short left from Sarney. Martin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sarney prevents the takedown attempt.
Martin manages to break the clinch.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Sarney throws a hook but Martin blocks it. Ceaser Sarney is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Martin slips a straight right by Sarney. Martin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sarney lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martin circles away quickly and effectively. A looping hook to the body misses from Sarney. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet. Sarney is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Martin tries a head kick but it misses.
Martin fails in his attempt to clinch. Martin shoots for a double leg takedown but Sarney sprawls well. He's pushed Martin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sarney misses the jab. No luck for Martin with that takedown attempt. A nice combination there by Sarney.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sarney avoids a kick to the body.
Martin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sarney pushes Martin up against the cage in a clinch. Sarney lands a nice uppercut. Sarney tries a body shot but Martin blocks it.

Sarney throws a body punch but Martin moves out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Martin tries to bum rush Sarney with a series of wild strikes but Sarney uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Martin misses with a wild body shot. Martin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Martin looks to land a body kick but Sarney moved away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ceaser Sarney dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Martin's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Martin rushes Sarney and presses him up against the cage. Sarney connects with a knee to the head.
Martin lands a takedown into guard.
Martin won't allow Sarney to sweep him here. Sarney escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Martin stands up from guard. Let's bang! Martin tries to clinch but Sarney moves out of range. Ceaser Sarney is winning the standup battle so far. A chopping leg kick lands by Martin. Martin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sarney avoids it really well and circles away. Sarney gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Martin wants to control from the top but Sarney keeps moving. Sarney working for a triangle but Martin defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin passes into half guard. Martin is taking a breather. Sarney says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Martin is looking for a kimura but Sarney is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Martin to get the leverage. Martin trying to control from half guard but Sarney is working away. Martin works his way into full mount! Sarney is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Martin locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Sarney is forced to tap!
