Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Nassoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorik Vartanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jorik Vartanov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nassoon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vartanov napping and manages to drive through into side control!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nassoon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vartanov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nassoon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vartanov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nassoon is controlling him.

Nassoon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Vartanov, up you get!

Nassoon decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Nassoon wants to free his trapped foot but Vartanov is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Nassoon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vartanov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Vartanov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nassoon eats them both and turns towards Vartanov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Nassoon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vartanov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nassoon somewhat.
