Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diogo Hakushaku! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Manuel! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hakushaku dodges the punch combination from Manuel.
Hakushaku keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hakushaku closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Manuel did well to prevent Hakushaku getting side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hakushaku looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hakushaku takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Hakushaku tries to pass to full mount but Manuel defends it. Hakushaku with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Diogo Hakushaku has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Manuel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hakushaku tries to avoid it but Manuel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hakushaku to the ground. Hakushaku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hakushaku will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Manuel gets caught napping as Hakushaku dives in and scores a takedown. Manuel manages to retain guard. Manuel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hakushaku is controlling him. Hakushaku seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hakushaku seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Manuel for as long as he can get away with. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Diogo Hakushaku wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Nice takedown defense from Manuel. No joy for Hakushaku on that attempt. Hakushaku shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Manuel trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hakushaku controlling his opponent. You get the feeling that Manuel really doesn't like being in this position too much.

We're going to have a standup here because Diogo Hakushaku wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Manuel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hakushaku tries to clinch but Manuel is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Manuel manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hakushaku on his heels. He'll look to pass Hakushaku's guard now, I'm sure. Manuel preventing the sweep. Hakushaku pushes Manuel off and scrambles back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hakushaku shoots in for a takedown but Manuel shows good takedown defense. Manuel looks to land a combination but Hakushaku avoids it well. Hakushaku keeps the fight on the outside. Manuel wants to clinch. Manuel is looking to clinch but Hakushaku is avoiding it.
Hakushaku shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Manuel as he avoids it easily. Manuel moves into range and clinches up with Hakushaku. Manuel pushes Hakushaku back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Manuel lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hakushaku backwards. Hakushaku looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diogo Hakushaku. That's going to take a lot out of him. Manuel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hakushaku has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Manuel avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Hakushaku wants to take the fight to the mat but Manuel manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Manuel lands a nice shot to the body. Hakushaku is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Manuel pulls him back up using the underhooks. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Manuel prevents the takedown attempt.
Manuel scores with an uppercut up the middle. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Manuel. Manuel looking to slow down the pace here. Manuel can't find room to land a body shot as Hakushaku controls the action.
Manuel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hakushaku shoots in but Manuel avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hakushaku shoots for a takedown but Manuel saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manuel gets a double leg takedown into Hakushaku's guard. Manuel postures up and lands a big shot to Hakushaku's brow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Manuel postures up in Hakushaku's guard and throws a big left but Hakushaku blocks it. Hakushaku on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hakushaku tries to get out of the position. Manuel looking to pass the guard. Manuel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hakushaku's head. Manuel postures up in Hakushaku's guard and throws a big left but Hakushaku blocks it. Hakushaku trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Manuel throws a strike but Hakushaku rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hakushaku slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Diogo Hakushaku wasn't doing enough on the ground. Manuel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hakushaku manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Hakushaku shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Manuel sprawls well. Manuel wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hakushaku gets slowly back to his feet. Hakushaku fails with the takedown. Manuel tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hakushaku manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hakushaku tries to score a power double leg takedown but Manuel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hakushaku somewhat. Manuel throws a nice looking combination but Hakushaku bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bryan Manuel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Manuel throws a big elbow that misses. Diogo Hakushaku overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hakushaku controlling the position. Hakushaku preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hakushaku is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Manuel is aware though and is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hakushaku keeping full guard, as Manuel tries to pass. Hakushaku lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Manuel! Hakushaku controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manuel is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hakushaku content just to control the position here. Hakushaku has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Diogo Hakushaku. Manuel shoots in looking for a takedown. Hakushaku tries to sprawl out of it but Manuel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hakushaku manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hakushaku fails with the takedown. Diogo Hakushaku is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hakushaku with a poor takedown and Manuel counters by moving into the clinch. Hakushaku can't get the takedown.
And that's the end of the fight! Diogo Hakushaku showed his dominance in that final round. I think Hakushaku has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
