Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ignat Kaigorodov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Vernitskaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ignat Kaigorodov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ignat Kaigorodov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksandr Vernitskaya!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaigorodov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vernitskaya's waist but Vernitskaya gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kaigorodov off to one side.

Kaigorodov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vernitskaya is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Vernitskaya really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kaigorodov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kaigorodov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like Aleksandr Vernitskaya has been cut.

The cut above Aleksandr Vernitskaya's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vernitskaya has momentary wrist control but Kaigorodov slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Aleksandr Vernitskaya's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Aleksandr Vernitskaya's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ignat Kaigorodov decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
