PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamapi Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Dressler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ikenai Tayou. Dressler comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Raptile - Fight Back kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yamapi Chan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marc Dressler!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dressler takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Chan closes the distance and clinches.

Chan decides to pull guard.
Dressler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Chan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dressler is one step ahead there.
Chan is pulling down on Dressler's head to control his posture.

Dressler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chan working a defensive guard here.
Dressler preventing the sweep.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dressler has gone for a leg lock! Chan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dressler's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Dressler looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chan tries to free his leg and advance position but Dressler is retaining full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Dressler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dressler had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chan defends it easily.
Chan lands a couple of digs.
Chan passes into half guard.

Chan wants to work for an arm triangle but Dressler is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Chan is looking for a kimura here.

Chan seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chan wants to take a breather but Dressler is having none of it.

Dressler is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Chan pulls his head out easily.
Dressler is looking for a sweep. Chan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dressler moves into full guard.

Chan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Chan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Chan distracts Dressler with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Dressler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dressler lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Chan!
Chan is looking to improve his position but Dressler isn't that keen on the idea.
Chan regains half guard.

Dressler is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chan defends it well.
Chan wants to control but Dressler is keeping busy.
Chan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Chan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dressler doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Chan is tightening it up a little... Dressler has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dressler reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dressler taps out! Nice BJJ there by Chan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Yamapi Chan!
