Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Valery Strasser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Valery Strasser! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ted Smith! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith blocks the body kick.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Strasser sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Strasser's guard. Smith is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Strasser working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Smith. Smith throwing strikes but missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith connects with a couple of short punches. Smith prevents Strasser from getting back to his feet. Strasser avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith is working Strasser over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Smith landing some decent shots from guard. Smith won't allow Strasser to get back to his feet. Smith postures up and lands a big shot to Strasser's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strasser is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Smith postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Strasser knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground. Smith loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Smith showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Smith trying to control but Strasser is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ted Smith was stalling too much, according to the referee. Strasser tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away. Smith closes the distance and clinches up with Strasser, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes Strasser against the cage but Strasser circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Strasser throws a nice head kick!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Strasser tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Smith gets to his feet - Strasser follows without any prompting. Strasser tries to clinch but Smith moves away and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. Strasser fights it but they end up in guard. Strasser is breathing heavily. Smith is in close to Strasser's body, working some short punches and elbows. Smith postures up in Strasser's guard and throws a big left but Strasser blocks it. Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Smith cracks Strasser with a solid left hand. Smith stands up and waves to Strasser to follow him. Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Strasser is rocked! Ground and pound from Smith. Oh Strasser is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Strasser is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
