Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Paulo Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Rua has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marcos Paulo Dias's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcos Paulo Dias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Rua! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua tries for a takedown but Dias sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dias uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rua has time to react. Rua with a poor takedown and Dias counters with a nice uppercut. Rua looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dias is fending him off so far but Rua persists. Nope, Dias circles away and we're back to standing. Marcos Paulo Dias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Rua. Rua misses with a right hand and Dias counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rua's guard now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Dias trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dias pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rua is keeping the position for now. Dias drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rua manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dias has Rua in his guard. Dias is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Marcos Paulo Dias. Rua keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Rua shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dias as he avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Dias circles away.
Rua shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dias's guard. Rua trying to control but Dias is working from the bottom. Rua is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Rua controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. Rua shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dias counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dias.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rua controlling the action here. Rua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dias keeps working. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dias is in trouble now - Rua has advanced to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dias wants to control but Rua is having none of it. Dias is controlling an arm, preventing Rua from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dias to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dias shrugs it off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Alexander Rua will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rua shoots in looking for a takedown but Dias manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rua's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rua tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dias sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rua somewhat. Rua has a takedown stuffed. Marcos Paulo Dias has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Rua. Rua misses with a body punch
and Dias counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dias. Rua is trying to control the position but Dias postures up. Rua has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dias can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dias throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rua works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dias looking to sit in guard and control but Rua gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rua wants to control from the top but Dias keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rua trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rua stays in close to Dias's body and controls the position. Marcos Paulo Dias overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rua trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua. Dias shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rua as he jumps to the side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rua drives through with a takedown into Dias's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rua stays in close to Dias's body and controls the position. Rua drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rua jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Dias is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alexander Rua wasn't active enough on the ground. Rua fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dias tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dias to the ground. Dias escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Marcos Paulo Dias is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rua stuffs the takedown. Rua shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rua closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dias circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexander Rua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Rua defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dias. Dias gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rua counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Rua content to control rather than advance. Rua moves nicely into side control. Rua passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Dias! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua moves to the back position. Rua has good solid back control here. Dias won't enjoy being in this position. Rua looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Dias is tapping - it's over boys! Rua picks up the submission victory!
