PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Master (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. seven nation army kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nate Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Master gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Johnson counters with a three punch combo that has Master backing up. Master nods at Johnson to acknowledge the strikes.
Master really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson moves into the clinch successfully.

Master has hold of one of Johnson's legs. Johnson is fighting the takedown attempt but Master gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.

Master drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Master jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Master is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Master has managed to sneak the leg through.
Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Master is working away from the top position though.
Johnson tries to roll over but Master keeps him under control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Master is looking for a kimura here.
Master is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Johnson!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Master is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Johnson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Johnson shrugs it off.
Johnson is trying desperately to improve position.

Master jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Johnson manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Master is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Johnson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Master will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Master thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Master has an Americana. Johnson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Master is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Master hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
