The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Wheeliams checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A swing and a miss from Penn.
Penn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Penn scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wheeliams in his tracks.

Wheeliams closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Penn tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Wheeliams cranks the arm and Penn screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Penn, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
