Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Angero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lance Nasri! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angero shoots in for a takedown but Nasri shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nasri throws a right and a left that both miss. Angero tries for a takedown but Nasri circles away easily and Nasri counters with a three punch combo that has Angero backing up. Angero nods at Nasri to acknowledge the strikes. Nasri fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nasri lands a right hook to the body.
Angero shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nasri pinned against the cage. Nasri gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Angero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Angero shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nasri as he avoids it easily. Nasri swinging wildly here.
Angero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nasri as he jumps to the side. Nasri stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nasri wants it to stay on the feet. Nasri throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Angero misses with a takedown attempt and Nasri counters with a straight right hand.
Angero is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Nasri misses. Oh Angero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nasri is pawing at Angero, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Angero's nose. Angero is badly hurt! Nasri pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Angero tries desperately to hold on but Nasri is relentless in his assault! As Angero receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Nasri away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lance Nasri!
