Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Michael Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashida Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Reeves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ashida Kim!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kim gets a double leg takedown into Reeves's guard.
Kim lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kim preventing the sweep.
Kim slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Reeves is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reeves keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully.
Reeves is trying to control the position but Kim postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Reeves.
Reeves connects with a jab.
Nice sprawl there from Kim as Reeves shoots in.

Kim shoots in and drives through. Reeves sprawls well.
Kim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reeves pinned against the cage. Reeves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reeves displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kim.
Michael Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashida Kim.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kim.
Kim slaps away a takedown attempt from Reeves, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Reeves moves in looking to clinch but Kim pushes him off.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kim as he avoids it easily.
Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Reeves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Reeves gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Reeves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Reeves lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kim!
Kim keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim really wants to buck Reeves off and get back to his feet.
Kim tries to hold on but Reeves postures up.
Reeves wants to control the pace but Kim is squirming around nicely.
Kim is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Reeves looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reeves is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Kim is surviving well by controlling Reeves's body position as best he can.
Reeves tries to control but Kim wriggling away.

Reeves avoids the attempt from Kim to control.
Kim is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position.
Reeves tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kim is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ashida Kim will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Reeves slaps away a takedown attempt from Kim, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kim shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reeves as he jumps to the side.
Michael Reeves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ashida Kim.
Reeves wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance.
Kim looks for a takedown but Reeves sprawls well.
Reeves fails with a takedown attempt.
Kim tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reeves sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kim somewhat.
Kim is breathing heavily.

Reeves dives in and scores a takedown into Kim's guard.
Reeves advances position into side control!

Reeves is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kim is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kim trying to remain calm as Reeves controls from the top position.
Kim manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kim thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reeves does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Reeves looks like he's trying to stand up.
Reeves is looking to control Kim's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Reeves avoid being mounted?

Reeves is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kim pulls his head out easily.
Reeves wants to improve his position but Kim is controlling well.
Kim is keen to just control but Reeves is a slippery customer.

Kim content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ashida Kim has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Kim stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Kim is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Reeves's half guard.
Kim is trying to control. Reeves wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Kim wants to pass to mount but Reeves is defending the position.
Reeves tries to get to full guard but Kim has control of the leg.

Kim is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reeves trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ashida Kim will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Kim closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kim lands in his opponent's guard.
Kim trying to control the position from guard on top but Reeves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Reeves wants to get back to his feet but Kim is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reeves working a defensive guard but Kim manages to pass into side control anyway.
Reeves regains half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kim wants to pass the guard but Reeves is defending well.
Reeves is trying to stand up here but Kim is controlling him well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kim not doing much here.
Reeves wants to get back to full guard but Kim has passed into side control.
Kim works to advance to full mount. Reeves defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Reeves wants to hold on but Kim pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kim can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reeves is looking to escape.

Kim is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Reeves has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kim avoids the attempt from Reeves to control.

Kim is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reeves can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reeves wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kim.
Kim fails to move to back control.
Kim landing punches.
Kim looking to control but Reeves is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Reeves takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kim seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Reeves is holding on tight.
Kim controlling the pace for now.
Kim working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Kim working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Kim throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Reeves because Kim loaded up on that one.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ashida Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kim winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
