Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Charles Bronson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Reggie Lafleur! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lafleur checks a leg kick. Bronson throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Reggie Lafleur has been cut. Lafleur throws a leg kick but Bronson sees it coming and moves out of range. Lafleur connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Bronson drops Lafleur with a nice combination! Bronson dives into Lafleur's guard, looking to finish!
Lafleur is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lafleur wants to sweep here but Bronson controlling him for the moment. Lafleur is still in real trouble! Can Bronson finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bronson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lafleur seems to have recovered his senses. Bronson throws an elbow that misses. Lafleur uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bronson's guard. Nice move by Lafleur! Lafleur postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bronson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lafleur, into his guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bronson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lafleur managing to control the position. Bronson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lafleur is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bronson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bronson postures up and lands a big shot to Lafleur's brow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lafleur is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bronson is aware though and is defending well. Lafleur looking for a sweep. Not yet Lafleur, not yet. Lafleur looking for a guillotine here but Bronson defends easily.
Bronson throws a big elbow that misses. Bronson stands and throws Lafleur's legs to the side, diving into side control. Bronson is chipping away with strikes.
Lafleur tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bronson wants to control but Lafleur is keeping him busy. Bronson landing a few strikes. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Bronson lands a few punches from side control. Bronson is chipping away with strikes.
Bronson lands a strong strike to the head of Lafleur. That's dazed him! Bronson looking to finish here. Lafleur is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Bronson lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Bronson! Charles Bronson gave a mention to Perkele! in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
