Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jafar Mehtmeht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Stroud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jafar Mehtmeht! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mehtmeht throws a leg kick that is checked and Stroud counters with a flying knee. Nice. Stroud fails with the takedown. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stroud. Stroud pulls out of a head kick attempt.
No joy there for Stroud, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mehtmeht keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Stroud throws a head kick that misses. Mehtmeht throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A head kick by Stroud misses and Mehtmeht makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Stroud really felt that one! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stroud throws a nice outside leg kick. Stroud tries a head kick but it misses.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Mehtmeht throws a sloppy head kick and Stroud moves out of range easily. Mehtmeht walks into a straight right hand from Stroud. Stroud will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Stroud shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mehtmeht but Mehtmeht pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stroud misses with a series of wild punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht works the jab nicely. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Good leg kick by Mehtmeht there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Stroud has his takedown stuffed and Mehtmeht counters with a slapping leg kick. Mehtmeht cracks Stroud with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stroud throws out a leg kick but Mehtmeht moves out of range and Stroud only half commits. Some bone on bone action there as Stroud checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Mehtmeht misses with a leg kick. Lee Stroud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stroud shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mehtmeht defends it nicely. An inside leg kick lands from Stroud. Stroud throws a lazy head kick and Mehtmeht counters with a slapping leg kick. Stroud throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Stroud throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stroud is breathing heavily. Mehtmeht misses with a leg kick. Stroud throws a head kick that misses. Stroud misses with a takedown and Mehtmeht counters with a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stroud sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mehtmeht chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mehtmeht moves out of range of the body kick. Stroud missing with a left hand there. Mehtmeht was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mehtmeht moves out of range of the body kick from Stroud.
Stroud takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Mehtmeht. Stroud blocks a low kick nicely. Stroud takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Mehtmeht tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mehtmeht checks a leg kick. Mehtmeht throws a wild body kick that Stroud sees coming a mile off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jafar Mehtmeht will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lee Stroud's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stroud tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mehtmeht was well out of range. Poor timing from Stroud. Stroud lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A head kick by Stroud misses and Mehtmeht finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Nice body kick from Mehtmeht. Stroud tries to close the distance and clinch but Mehtmeht swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Mehtmeht avoids the head kick by Stroud.
A left lands for Mehtmeht. Stroud shoots in and bounces Mehtmeht off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mehtmeht is trying to control the position but Stroud postures up. Mehtmeht wants to stand but Stroud is controlling the position.

Mehtmeht really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stroud. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Stroud with a flurry of punches that miss. Stroud throws a big right hand that misses. Mehtmeht is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mehtmeht is looking to stand up but Stroud isn't so interested in that idea. Mehtmeht working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stroud. Stroud working some strikes from top position. Stroud prevents Mehtmeht from getting back to his feet. Stroud will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mehtmeht preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mehtmeht is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mehtmeht wants to stand up but Stroud is controlling him. Stroud scoring with some ground and pound. Stroud distracts Mehtmeht with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stroud wants to control from the top but Mehtmeht keeps moving. Stroud slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mehtmeht looking for a sweep. Not yet Mehtmeht, not yet. Stroud lands a couple of elbows. Stroud throwing strikes but missing. Stroud throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stroud loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Mehtmeht kicks Stroud off and gets to his feet. Stroud slips a jab from Mehtmeht. Mehtmeht buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mehtmeht fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Stroud checks it well. Stroud just misses with a punch to the body.

Stroud is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Stroud misses with an uppercut. Stroud is looking to clinch but Mehtmeht is avoiding it.

Lee Stroud is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mehtmeht lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Stroud misses with a hook. Mehtmeht looks to land a body kick but Stroud moved away. Stroud scores with a push kick. Mehtmeht avoids the head kick by Stroud.

Mehtmeht takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mehtmeht looks to throw the jab but Stroud is out of range. Stroud throws a sloppy head kick and Mehtmeht moves out of range easily. Mehtmeht swings away with a leg kick that misses. Stroud throws a sloppy head kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Mehtmeht walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Stroud checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Stroud is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mehtmeht darts in and out, connecting with a jab. A left lands for Mehtmeht. Mehtmeht with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Mehtmeht lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Stroud slips a jab from Mehtmeht. Stroud takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jafar Mehtmeht is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mehtmeht just misses with a punch to the body.
Stroud throws a right and a left that both miss. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Stroud crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mehtmeht - the referee stops the clock and Stroud gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mehtmeht. Stroud manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stroud shoots in and drives through. Mehtmeht sprawls well. Stroud ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mehtmeht moves away. Mehtmeht misses with an attempted mid kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Stroud. Mehtmeht slaps away a takedown attempt from Stroud, before circling back to the center of the mat. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Mehtmeht. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Stroud throws a wild body kick that Mehtmeht sees coming a mile off. Mehtmeht throws a head kick but Stroud moves out of range.
Stroud fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mehtmeht manages to avoid it. Nice sprawl there from Mehtmeht as Stroud shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Stroud. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stroud misses with a low kick. Nice defenses there by Mehtmeht.

Stroud swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mehtmeht is looking to score with low kicks. Mehtmeht cracks the inside of Stroud's front leg. Mehtmeht throws a looping overhand right but Stroud ducks down to avoid it. A head kick misses from Stroud. Stroud shoots in for a takedown but Mehtmeht shows good takedown defense. A combination from Stroud does no damage. Mehtmeht throws a leg kick which misses Stroud's front leg but catches the back leg as Stroud tries to avoid it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mehtmeht dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stroud. That did some damage! Stroud misses with an uppercut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mehtmeht blocks a jab.
