PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gavriil Endymion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladamir Bobkoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vladamir Bobkoff told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladamir Bobkoff!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Endymion takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bobkoff misses with a looping right.
Bobkoff shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Endymion but Endymion pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Endymion slips a jab from Bobkoff.
Bobkoff throws a looping overhand right but Endymion ducks down to avoid it.
Bobkoff ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Endymion moves away.
Endymion stalks Bobkoff and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bobkoff's face. Bobkoff staggers backwards, shaken.

Endymion drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bobkoff accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Bobkoff wants to control from the top but Endymion keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Gavriil Endymion will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Endymion manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bobkoff manages to get himself to full guard.

Endymion drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Bobkoff manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Endymion has Bobkoff in his guard.
