Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper has chosen Scotland yard by The Ramones as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Piper counters with a stiff right hand.
The fighters circle momentarily. Piper darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Piper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
James throws a chopping leg kick but Piper manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Piper misses with a looping left.
James closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Piper moves away.
James misses with a straight right.
Piper avoids the body shot from James.
Roddy Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James throws an overhand right that lands on Piper's shoulder, as Piper tries to avoid the shot.
Piper stalks James and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into James's face. James staggers backwards, shaken.

James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Piper.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

James is looking to take a break and control but Piper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Piper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

James wants to pass to mount but Piper is defending the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Piper can do anything to dispel that myth.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Piper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

James is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Piper is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! James had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
James has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Piper might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
