Archer comes to the cage accompanied by Predator Theme. Johns has chosen By the Sword - Slash as his entrance music. Mason Archer could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shane Johns's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Archer.
Archer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johns.
Archer delivers a nice body kick.
Johns scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Archer doesn't seem bothered though.
Archer fakes the leg kick and cracks Johns in the body.
Johns paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

and Johns counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Johns throws a big shot that misses.
Archer moves out of range as Johns throws a body kick.

A swing and a miss from Archer.
Archer tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Johns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Johns moves into the clinch successfully.
Archer blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Archer.
Archer lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Archer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Johns throws a body punch but Archer moves out of range.
Good leg kick by Archer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Archer throws an overhand right that lands on Johns's shoulder, as Johns tries to avoid the shot.
A jab from Archer finds it's way through Johns's defenses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johns takes a swing at Archer's ribcage but misses.
Archer moves into range and clinches up with Johns.
Johns scores with a shot to the side of Archer's head.
Archer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Archer tries to clinch but Johns moves out of range.
Archer thuds his shin into the meat of Johns's side.

Archer misses with the body kick
and Johns counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Archer thinking.
Johns thows a body shot but no joy.
Johns slips a straight right by Archer.
Mason Archer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Johns throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Johns tries to score with a low kick but Archer moves his leg out of the way.
Archer lands with a hook. Johns tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Johns tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Johns. Archer does a little dance to reset his feet.
Archer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johns was well out of range. Poor timing from Archer.
Johns missing with a left hand there. Archer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Archer throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Archer tries to close the distance and clinch but Johns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Archer looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Archer tries a head kick but it misses.
Johns darts in and clinches Archer up against the cage.
Johns misses with an elbow strike.
Johns with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Mason Archer has been cut.
Johns using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Archer has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Johns lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Johns goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Johns is trying to break free.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Johns.
Archer presses Johns against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Johns creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Johns prevents a body shot from Archer.
Archer lands with a left to the head.
A right hand to the body from Archer.
Archer tries to throw a body punch but Johns avoids it by throwing Archer back against the cage.
A hook to the body from Archer.
Johns looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Archer lands a shoulder strike.
Archer lands a nice uppercut.
Archer lands a body shot.

Archer lands a body punch in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Archer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Johns is rocked!
Archer lands a big right hand that drops Johns! The killer instinct kicks in and Archer finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Archer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mason Archer!
After winning the bout, Mason Archer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
