PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diogo Hakushaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yukinari Tamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hakushaku comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Diogo Hakushaku had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Diogo Hakushaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yukinari Tamura!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakushaku fails with the takedown

and Tamura counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tamura seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hakushaku controls Tamura momentarily but Tamura frees himself.
Hakushaku is striking from the bottom but Tamura uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Hakushaku tries to roll over but Tamura keeps him under control.
Tamura thows a huge punch but Hakushaku dodges it nicely.
Hakushaku is trying to get back to full guard.

Hakushaku wants to sweep but Tamura has passed to side control!
Tamura wants to control but Hakushaku is keeping him busy.
Hakushaku tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tamura gets to mount! Hakushaku was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hakushaku tries to hold on but Tamura postures up.
Tamura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hakushaku is looking to escape.

Hakushaku wants to hold on but Tamura pushes him away.
Hakushaku is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hakushaku wants to control but Tamura is having none of it.
Tamura trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hakushaku is looking to improve his position but Tamura isn't that keen on the idea.
Tamura throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Hakushaku is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Tamura is working for a guillotine from mount but Hakushaku frees his head quite easily.
Hakushaku stops Tamura from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Tamura trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hakushaku wants to hold on but Tamura pushes him away.
Hakushaku is squirming around, avoiding Tamura's attempts to control the action.

Tamura has control of Hakushaku's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hakushaku regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tamura avoids the attempt from Hakushaku to control.

Tamura controlling his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hakushaku is desperately trying to improve his position but Tamura has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yukinari Tamura dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Hakushaku shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Tamura counters with a shoot takedown. Hakushaku fights it but they end up in guard.

Tamura gets to his feet. Hakushaku looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tamura gets a double leg takedown into Hakushaku's guard.
Hakushaku bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tamura's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hakushaku sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hakushaku won't allow Tamura to get back to his feet.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hakushaku's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Tamura wants to stand and escape but Hakushaku is having none of it.

Hakushaku postures up in Tamura's guard and throws a big left but Tamura blocks it.
Tamura looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hakushaku trying to control but Tamura is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tamura is trying to control the position but Hakushaku postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hakushaku tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tamura swivels and escapes.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diogo Hakushaku. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tamura throws a big elbow that misses.
Hakushaku is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hakushaku wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Tamura is now in half guard.
Yukinari Tamura has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tamura is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hakushaku!

Tamura is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Tamura really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Hakushaku.

Tamura keeps control of the position as Hakushaku tries to break free.

A lull in the action here.

Hakushaku is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yukinari Tamura showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Tamura gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tamura has had enough of the clinch but Hakushaku keeps him there for the moment.

Tamura turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Hakushaku on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hakushaku tries to get out of the position.

Hakushaku manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tamura's best efforts.
Tamura seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Tamura perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Tamura winds up and cracks Hakushaku with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hakushaku is trying to control but Tamura passes into side control!
Hakushaku wants to control but Tamura postures up.

Tamura decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Hakushaku gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hakushaku pushes Tamura off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Tamura tries to clinch but Hakushaku moves out of range.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tamura is on top in guard.
Hakushaku is trying to keep Tamura in close.

Hakushaku looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tamura is one step ahead there.
Hakushaku wants to control the position but Tamura says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Hakushaku tries to roll over but Tamura keeps him under control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tamura not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Well, if Tamura is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tamura is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hakushaku sees it coming and defends easily.
Diogo Hakushaku has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Yukinari Tamura is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hakushaku is looking to improve his position.

Yukinari Tamura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tamura has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
